A Kansas City arts district hotel stay, reserved for three weeknights

from $5303 weeknights, room for twofrom $265 per person

Our Kansas City arts district hotel stay closes the list, because Kansas City is the largest of the nine towns. The 2020 census counted 508,090 people there, against 52,533 in Florissant, where our office sits. That is a little under ten times as many, so its row of houses reaches almost one full roof past ours. The office reserves three weeknights in a brick depot hotel in the Crossroads, and the written quote is free.

Fountains, galleries and jazz in Kansas City

The hotel stands in the Crossroads Arts District, a grid of old warehouses that now hold galleries, studios and small shops. Once a month the galleries keep their doors open into the evening for a gallery walk, and the sidewalks fill with people moving from one lit window to the next. On other nights the same streets are quiet enough to read the brickwork.

A short walk away stands the 1914 Beaux-Arts station, with its great vaulted hall, and the war-memorial hill that faces it from across the street. Kansas City likes to call itself a city of fountains, and the boulevards prove it: carved basins and bronze figures turn up along the roads and in small parks all over town.

East of downtown, the 18th and Vine district keeps the city's jazz history in its streets and music halls. To the west, the bluffs drop to the West Bottoms, and below them the Missouri River makes its bend. Three days gives you time for each of these without hurrying any of them.

A 1911 brick depot in the Crossroads

The lodging is a hotel built inside a 1911 brick depot, on a corner of the arts district. Check-in is at 3:00 PM and checkout is at 12:00 PM, which leaves a slow last morning. Breakfast is your own choice: a lobby cafe sells coffee and pastries, and the neighborhood has plenty of places to sit down for a meal. Parking at the hotel is valet only, and the quote confirms its nightly price.

Here is how the money moves. You pay the hotel directly at its desk for the room. After you check out, the hotel pays the office a commission. Your written quote from us costs nothing, whether you go ahead or not.

Kansas City's depot hotel: rate and arena charge

from $530

a room shared by two over 3 weeknights, so from $265 per person

On November 4, 2026, we looked up this hotel on a public travel search page for a Wednesday night in mid-November, two guests in one room. The plainest room showed $173 a night, as the page listed it with its estimated fees. On top of the room the hotel adds an arena charge of about $3 a night, an amount the quote confirms. We added the two, multiplied by three nights and rounded up to the next ten dollars, which gives from $530 for two people. Half of that, rounded up to the next five dollars, is from $265 per person. Search pages like that one often fold an estimate of taxes into the nightly number, so this figure leans high; your quote separates the room rate from the taxes the desk will charge.

Weekend nights cost more, and so do nights when a large event fills downtown, so the figure assumes weeknights in a quiet week. The desk charges the taxes at checkout: Missouri state and local sales tax, which in this part of downtown includes district taxes and most likely comes to about 10.475%, plus the city's 7.5% convention and tourism tax. The quote confirms both rates, and the final total is confirmed when the reservation is made.

Three Crossroads nights include

  • The room for two for three weeknights at the hotel's rate for the month
  • The arena charge of about $3 a night that the hotel adds to the room
  • A written quote from the office, free of charge

Valet, meals and tax in Kansas City

  • Missouri state and local sales tax, and the city's 7.5% convention and tourism tax, with both rates confirmed in the quote
  • Valet parking, the only parking at the hotel, with the price confirmed in the quote
  • Weekend nights and nights with a large downtown event
  • Meals and drinks, including coffee and pastries from the lobby cafe
  • Admission to museums, music venues and gallery events

Gallery evenings and slower weeks

April through June and September through October suit this trip. The fountains run, the boulevards are green or turning, and evenings are mild enough to walk from the Crossroads to the station and back after dinner.

July and August bring heavy heat that makes long walks between galleries a chore, and January and February are cold and gray, with the fountains shut off for winter. We will still quote those months if your dates fall there, and we will tell you plainly what to expect.

Across the state to the Crossroads

From our office in Florissant the road runs west across Missouri for 237 miles, about 4 hours 31 minutes before stops and traffic. It is an easy interstate day, with room for lunch halfway and an arrival close to the 3:00 PM check-in.

Your Kansas City dates, in a quote

Send us the weeknights you have in mind, how many people are coming and whether you will want the car parked by the valet. The office checks the hotel's rate for those dates, writes out the room, the arena charge and the taxes the desk will add, and sends it to you. If the numbers suit you, we place the reservation and you settle the room with the hotel.
