A Springfield downtown boutique hotel stay, reserved for two weeknights

from $3102 weeknights, room for twofrom $155 per person

The office puts together a Springfield downtown boutique hotel stay for two weeknights in a 1906 Masonic temple that now works as a hotel. Springfield counted 169,176 people in the 2020 census, a little more than three times the 52,533 who live in Florissant, and that makes it the second largest of our nine towns. It is a real city, and it still feels like an Ozark one.

Springfield's 169,176 people reach a quarter of the way into the sixth roof, while Florissant's 52,533 stop short of it: a little over three times as many people, about half a roof apart on this scale.

Park Central Square and Springfield's Ozark edges

Downtown Springfield is red brick, and Park Central Square sits at its heart. Two weeknights give enough time to walk the streets around the square in the evening, find dinner a few blocks away, and come back to the room without moving the car at all.

The country around the city is the Ozark plateau, with clear spring-fed streams and caves cut into the limestone. Southwest of town, a national battlefield from 1861 spreads across rolling prairie, and it rewards an unhurried half day. Closer in, a city park holds a botanical garden and a Japanese stroll garden, a quiet hour on a weekday morning.

On the south edge of the city, Lake Springfield and its greenway trails make an easy late afternoon walk before heading back downtown.

A 1906 temple turned Springfield hotel

The building went up in 1906 as a Masonic temple and now runs as a boutique hotel in the middle of downtown. Check-in starts at 4:00 PM and checkout is at 12:00 PM, which leaves room for a slow morning on the day you leave. Breakfast is paid separately, and downtown has coffee and morning food within a short walk. Guests who drive choose between overnight valet, charged per night, and a city garage paid per entry; the quote names both.

Here is how the arrangement works. We send a written quote at no charge, and once you say yes, we place the reservation in your name. You pay the hotel directly at checkout. After your stay, the hotel pays our office a commission, and that commission is what covers our work.

Springfield's temple hotel, priced for two

from $310

a room shared by two over 2 weeknights, so from $155 per person

We checked a public price page for this hotel in early November 2026, using a Wednesday night in mid-November for two guests in one room. The least expensive room, a double with one queen bed, showed $154 a night. Two nights at that rate, rounded up to the next ten dollars, give $310 for two people, and half of that, rounded up to the next five, is $155 per person. Friday and Saturday nights run much higher, close to double on many dates, which is why this quote sticks to weeknights. Search pages like that one often fold an estimate of taxes into the nightly number, so this figure leans high; your quote separates the room rate from the taxes the desk will charge.

The front desk charges the taxes at checkout: Missouri sales tax at 8.10% and Springfield's 5% hotel-motel tax, about 13.1% together. Inside the downtown improvement district the sales tax runs a little higher, and the quote confirms which rate applies to this address. Rates move by month, so the final number is set when the reservation is made.

Springfield nights the quote carries

  • The room for two for two weeknights at the hotel's rate for that month
  • A written quote from our office, free of charge
  • Check-in and checkout times, parking choices and tax rates spelled out in writing

Springfield parking, meals and tax

  • Missouri sales tax and Springfield's 5% hotel-motel tax, added by the front desk
  • Overnight valet or city garage parking for guests who drive
  • Friday and Saturday nights, which cost roughly double
  • Breakfast, other meals and drinks

Ozark springs in every season

April through June and September through October suit Springfield well. The gardens are at their fullest in spring, the streams run clear, and autumn brings mild days for the battlefield and the lake trails.

July and August are hot and heavy, and outdoor walks get short by midday. December through February is cold and often gray, so the trip shrinks to downtown dinners and the hotel itself. Both work, but they make a smaller visit.

Four hours southwest on the interstate

The road from our office in Florissant to Springfield runs 219 miles, about 4 h 11 min with no traffic and no stops. The route heads southwest on the interstate, climbing gradually onto the Ozark plateau, and stays in Missouri the whole way. Leaving around midday lands you downtown close to the 4:00 PM check-in.

Quoting a Springfield weeknight pair

Send us the weeknights you have in mind, how many guests, and whether you prefer a queen or a king bed. We reply in writing with the month's rate, the taxes the desk adds and the parking choices. If it fits, we reserve the room in your name, and you settle with the hotel when you check out.
